We're going to the London Bike Show!

Last year both me and Vee embarked on a journey into London for an event and a trip to the London bike show, part of The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show – Driven by SEAT. Sadly, we were only able to stay for a short while but in the time we were there it was a fantastic day leaving us wanting more in 2015.
And thanks to the lovely event organisers, we'll be there on the 15th February, with two monsters ready to try everything they can get there little mitts onto. If there's enough time and I can keep the tablet or netbook charged during the day I'll host a G+ Hangout if possible.

The London Bike Show is the UK’s largest cycling exhibition, taking place 12 – 15 February 2015 at London’s ExCeL, As well as being able to see the latest bikes, clothing, components and accessories, you will also be able to enjoy our fantastic attractions free of charge (*although you will require premium tickets for the Training Hub.) From 1-2-1 assessments through to stunt displays, there's a host of family fun entertainment waiting for you all at the London Bike Show 2015
Vee With a Vitus Vee 29 bike!

The London Bike Show, an event, perfect for riders of all ages, abilities and ride types. It looks to be one of the largest bike events in the capital,

If you're looking for a family day out it'll be one to look forward to, as they've thought of everything for all riders - big and small.

The DMR Pump track offers visitors of all ages the chance to take part in taster sessions for a to see if dirt riding is for you in a safe environment, while it's not for everyone it offers you the chance to chuck around some serious hardware on a fast paced test track.

For children under 10 who don't wish to blat the Pump track they have the chance to check out the latest bikes on the market around their own dedicated test track. Perfect for parents who want advice and guidance to ensure the smalls get the best out of two wheels. Luckily, they get the chance to see Sir Chris Hoy who'll be showing off his latest Hoy bikes with his Hoy Kids under 10 skills clinic on the 14th Feb, It's a shame we'll miss it but it would be unfair for my two to take places from people who'll benefit more. I do hope to get chance to meet Sir Chris on the Sunday but we'll see.

For the grown up's you'll have the chance to try out the adult test track, with experts on hand to guide you into your perfect bike, be it road, hybrid, mtb or insane stunt rig they'll let you try it out, the kids love this as an opportunity to high five the riders last year. For the more competitive you've also got the Cytech Fastest Wrench Competition where you can win prizes, I know it'll be hard so I'm training for this now. With props to fellow nutter Fester

Hold on, you do more than ride?
Well, you're in luck then - on purchasing a London Bike Show ticket  you gain access to a plethora of amazing shows and events hosted at The Telegraph Outdoor Adventure and Travel Show – Driven by SEAT. These include The London Bike Show, the Triathlon Show: London and the London International Dive Show (Saturday and Sunday only) with one ticket allowing visitors access into all four shows. Britmumslive 2013 the epitome of epic.

Hi all.
Last weekend i embarked on an epic weekend of education, awesomeness, scooby doo, hedwig the owl from harry potter and a laptop.

That's right people. I'm talking about BritMums Live Baby.

Ok. i got here late. I think today was the oppertunity to say hi to many amazing people. Some of whom know the darker side of me. As a concequence of my poor planning and the fact i'd got my daughters picnic time mixed up the day was a chance to soak it all while bilssfully off my tits on morphine. it is at this moment i would like to mention that i am not a drug abusing loonybin, but they supress spinal pain. Trust me, i'd come fully loaded just in case. (Paracetamol for the saturday hangovers was useful)

I won't lie i felt a tad awkward, a feeling i also experienced at Cybermummy and Cybher, but that soon passed as i met friends and people i'd talked to over the interwebs. very quickly we entered party mode for the BIBS. Everyone who wan was fantastic. especially the amazing ladies heading #TeamHonk who won an award for this awesome effort. Everyone who won was flipping amazing. I eventually got the naughty table and soaked in the rucus. Such a good day.

Getting back to the travelodge in kings cross, I spent most of the evening soaking up the tube trains clattering past, the laughs from the bar over the road and some good music. It didn't help I was missing theJess. Knowing she was about to embark on a trip to Chessington with the kids while struggling with mobility i was a bit worried she would panic or worse. 3am came and i fell asleep to the drones of some classic tunes from Pearl Jam, and an engineering crew train.

On rolled Saturday and by Jove I ran late again, filming on the tube for my daughters as they love the tube so i film every time i get a chance. Even if I nearly get arrested on "security concerns" Only a moose like me can cock it up both days. Thankfully I didn't miss Katie Hall's talk on what happened to her, how she got through it and how she set up a charity. Throughout the talk you could hear a pin drop, literally. She is a monumentally strong woman with an epic attitude towards life. An inspiration to many. She mentioned ever scar is special. I childishly thought of Tow Mater in Cars 2, every dent to him is special as it's a memory be it good or bad.

After this i visited lots of sessions, including a youtube session run by three network partners, sadly the advice given here was awful sorry but. It truly was. Next time I suggest you get tubers like Dibber, Little rich or StevieJacko. People who actually support the community, are partners and willing to offer advice to people. Not tell them to "work hard at it" as it's not always going to work out that way. More on that in another post.
Many other sessions i attended were really good. I learnt a lot, I won't know if it'll all be put to use. But none the less it's a positive thing.
After that it became a blur, of fun friends, butterflies and 'molesting' Scooby Doo, Alex the lion hi fives and lots of banter. Oh and something else to make someones weekend. I kid you not awesome fun.

The brands i met with were extremely friendly, happy to discus all aspects of what they want from blogger relationships, how they want it and if we want to work with them on the future.

The final keynotes were fantastic, but very emotional at the same time. I cried, then helped a few special people. I hope they are ok x.
I had to leave early to meet my partner for 6.40 at kings cross. (I got there early) but this did mean I missed the tribute to Kerry, multiple mummy. Which would have made me cry more. So maybe a good thing. I hear it's on ustream. I'll link to it later.

I leave you on a good note. BritmumsLive. See you next year.
Thank you to the person who gave me a ticket. You're full of win and you rock. I owe you one xx

Paul.

Giveaway! See you at the Mums Show Live

Hi All.

I'm really proud and awesomely excited to announce that the Imwellconfused team will be attending the Mums Show Live in London and talking in the Conversation Theatre on the 18th May.

Yep! I'm talking in the conversation theatre about the birds and the bees. Does 'the talk' give you the fear?
Does your child entering puberty make you cringe?, Worried about how to talk about all things puberty and sex with your children? Well I'm no expert. But we do have Betty Herbert, author of The 52 seductions on the panel with me as well as Karen Hopkinson and Justin Hancock. All awesome people from researching them this week

The Birds and the bees is not just giving your child the talk when you catch them looking at something they shouldn't be or doing something we all did when we were young. (if you didn't get caught you're a very sneaky ninja) It's also in my eyes guidance and support when your child(ren) become comfortable with themselves and begin to understand themselves in a non discriminative manner.
Joking aside I'll also give my opinion on all things birds and the bees, including sexuality and my personal response to coming out. It's not such a big thing in 2013 is it?

I am really excited to get the chance to explore all the amazing companies who will be there. I won't name many so people don't think I'm choosing Favourites. But the Tree house from Littlebird sounds like a ton of fun for both parents and children alike. I know I'll be eyeing up the DC thomson and Scalextric stands. Toy cars and comics. Awesome. I'm thinking of coming alone just so I can play all day!

I've been told by the wife to take lots of cash for the marketplace, have lots of fun talking in the Conversation Theatres and chill with the best of the tots100 crew *innit bloggablud*
On top of that we have some great show categories, two of which I've mentioned above already!

If you want to come to the Mums Show Live on the 16th -19th May. I may be able to help you there as I have a pair of tickets to give away to you, my lovely readers.

For those who can't wait you can buy tickets on-line now. And receive a discount when you add the code BLOGOFF at checkout. Children are very welcome too but be aware that some of the conversation theatres may contain adult themes so check before attending the theatre.
Good luck people.

Hope to see you there.
Paul

Terms and conditions are in the competition tool above

P.S. I openly invite parents to come and meet me on the 18th. If you want to meet me to discus baby loss/miscarriage I will be wondering about all day and willing to talk, offer advice and offer handshakes or hugs if needed tweet me on @hooker1uk for more info!

On the 25th June 2011 many parents will be joining together at The Brewery, London for one of the years premier events for bloggers, CyberMummy11. Now, as a fairly new blogger I would love the opportunity to go to introduce more people to my blog, the strange blog of a daddy and dispel the myth that geeks are into computers and nothing else, despite what my children may say!

This means I will be looking for a sponsor for the event.

I will be looking for a sponsor who is willing to provide.

Why the strange blog of a daddy?
Well, I try and mix being a parent, geek, carer, reviewer and blogger into one and give people an insight into our strange little world, be it though here, our Facebook page, through my tweets or my YouTube videos.

Or Tweet me @hooker1uk

Thanks for considering me.
