Heya.
Christmas is coming and I'm off my head on my new painkillers.(hell yeah)
I want to wish you all a hugely happy christmas and wish you all a safe and happy new year.
From me, Lissy, Vee and Jessie have a great one.
Now for the serious bit of my post.
Have you seen your elderly or disabled neighbor recently? Go on, knock on the door and check they are OK. It may be silly but giving two moments of your time could mean the world to that person. And being able to do that for others makes me happy. and usually brings a warm feeling to those who do this.
For those who may not be coping too well for any reason. people will be there to help you. We have a huge community network called NotAlone 365, a twitter account to help being people together so nobody is alone all year. You will need a twitter account, but believe me. The community spirit of twitter is a powerful tool to make people smile, or feel better.
If you need to talk to someone but can't use twitter. The Samaritans are here too. you can call them on 08457 90 90 90* (in the UK) or on 1850 60 90 90* (in the ROI)
If you suffer a loss of a baby from early pregnancy to infant loss, Sands is here to help. Call them on the Sands National Helpline: 020 7436 5881
And for support with other parents. please drop @SayingGoodbyeUK a line on facebook or twitter I love the work Zoe and Andy are doing. Parents's my previous offer of help or advice after a miscarriage is always there @hooker1uk on twitter for that ( may not be here as much right now as it is christmas and my phone broke this morning. I was an idiot. But do have twitter on my old nokia backup phone)
this emotional video says more about it than I can.
If things go bad between you and a partner over the holidays and there are children involved it may be hard but things can be fixed sometimes. If not I suggest dads contact OnlyDads and mums contact OnlyMums, fantastic charity groups who are there to help
Finally stay safe out there on the lash. I would hate to hear of anyone I care for being hurt.
Have a great christmas. and See you in 2013?
Paul
P.s. 2013 google hangout anyone?
Good message for the festive season, so easy to become absorbed in your own special day and forget that other people may be struggling.
