Raver MASSIVE

Big it up on the ones and twos.

Today we're talking about one of the most welcoming scenes of the 90's That's right motherlovers. Rave.
From the illegal warehouse and barn raves (anyone remember the one at AA insulation, Houghton Regis?) to the roaring events, Slammin Vinyl, Helter Skelter, Thunderdome, and many more.
Sadly I was too young to get to some of the real early ones (being under 16 through the majority of them caused issues but sneaking in worked), but some of the others were absolutely amazing.
These days I still listen to the music. But the scene has progressed and i'm getting old and had kids. (yes i'm getting that boring) But Jungle, Drum and Bass, Happy hardcore and old school techno was what i was bought up on. Eventually I got into garage. D&P Productions never took off. oh well.

So to tie in with Sian and Claire's raving linky I'll share some of the best tracks I can remember. (I come back to these again and again for aural bliss) These will be featured On a spotify playlist labeled The ultimate 90's Club selection.
If i get the chance i'll try and mix a truckload from the linky up for you all! (Virtual DJ and Djay for ipad is ready for fun)

Let's begin

DISCLAMER Swears and other things are in these tunes. Don't blame me if your child starts to shout "Push up your lighter inna de air, Tell them the original herbsman is here tell your friend dem. Push up you lighter inna de air, The orignial ganja man we gone clear" Enjoy the tunes and rave with us!

Goldie - Inner City Life.

6 Million Ways to die, CHOOSE ONE. Uncle 22 remix

Blumchen - Boomerang (dang she's hot)

Ceasefire - Speakerblow

Final Cut Ft True Faith - Take Me Away

Patti Day - Right Before My Eyes (blows NRG's remake out the water)

D.M.S boneman. sweet vibrations

Krinjah - Big Bad & Heavy

Underworld Born Slippy (I remember a real filthy dirty bootlegged remix of this, but can't find it anywhere)

The strangest but obsessively weird in the middle of this mess track is

Gigi D'Agostino - BLABLABLA

Enjoy mother-lovers!
