Holiday post. Kid free day. What the flip???

Yep, a very rare occurrence happened tonight.

All the smalls are out. Midge on holiday with grandparents set 1 and Modge (ginger nut) is with set 2 of grandparents.

What does that mean for us two miserable buggers?

No. Not perversions. Maybe after my vasectomy. (another time maybe)

We live the high life. Tidying the front room of mess, removing a huge part of the carpet due to water damage (would not happened if they'd replaced the plasterboards instead of botch them.) and removal of all the dead toys, with free cycling of the good ones too. (far better to save them than bin them)

But once that was done (translation: Floor has been scrubbed where needed, and is now drying and all toys organised to binning, give away and keep.... You keeping up here) we finally decide to bugger off out.

Then it got strange. We usually see things for the kids and buy them 'they need this' is the usual excuse. But none of it today, bar some peppa pig canvas pictures which had to be got for by vee's bed. And for once spending time and money on ourselves, including cinema and meal out.

Do you not realise something, I bloody enjoyed and and jess did too! I didn't realise our time was so lacking, we've giggled like loons and thanks to a Kleenex joke are planning a joke video for YouTube tomorrow. (no not smutty, but will be a bit naughty).

It has made me think that as much as I love and really, REALLY, miss the kids the week of nightmares about them being away has been somewhat worth it. Yes, the zombie apocalypse could come any moment from now, or some airborne virus attack where they are, similar to the film I Am Legend could happen, nut in fairness I have more chance of being laughed at in Brighton on Wednesday with my feet in sandals and huge bandages on my toes. I wonder if i'd pull... No, lets not go there.

Do you think parents should plan a child free day or would you prefer to be with the kids,
Let me know down below in the comments

"Yes, the zombie apocalypse could come any moment from now, or some airborne virus attack where they are, similar to the film I Am Legend could happen,"

I love that you even thought this. I was talking to my friend yesterday about whether I should have laser eye surgery and after listing some benefits she said "And of course, come the zombie apocalypse you won't have to worry about hoarding contact lens solution" which was EXACTLY what I was thinking.

In answer to your question, yes definitely child free days, not that we have managed it since before one year old was born.
